The JJ Seafoods staff has double doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from the different epidemiological laboratories, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac Biontech. In addition, the food processing area is rigorously subjected to blood tests and rapid tests every month, to rule out the risk of contagion, this after demands from the Chinese market.

Clothing

For JJ Seafoods, the correct use of the uniform is a requirement, since the objective of the use of professional clothing in food services or in the food industry is to offer protection both for people and for the products and objects that it handles.

Based on this purpose we can highlight the following garments:

Cap: it is a protective element that contains the hair and prevents it from falling on the food that is being prepared and the surfaces of the work environment.



Mouth cover: it is used to prevent the dispersion of microorganisms that can lodge in the mouth and nose of people, even if they do not present symptoms of diseases.



Anti-cut mesh gloves: protect handlers from possible cuts. However, they must be kept clean and disinfected as one more utensil since the mesh has a large surface area that can act as a reservoir for dirt and microorganisms.



Thermal gloves: their use is recommended when handling frozen products or when working in rooms at low temperatures. As they are not made of a material suitable for contact with food, they should always be protected with impervious gloves.

 

 

Waterproof gloves: they are useful to protect the hands from very wet or cold operations and to protect the most sensitive foods from possible contaminants that the handler may carry on their hands. They require the same washing, disinfecting and changing treatment that is applied to bare hands.



Jacket with closed collar, sleeves, no pockets or buttons: these garments act as a barrier between the skin and street clothing, and the ingredients, food and work environment. For this reason it is sought to be closed. Regarding pockets, they are not allowed to avoid keeping items that may be polluting. And the buttons themselves can also come off and become a physical contaminant. In all cases, it is recommended that the garments are not too loose to maintain control over them and give people security.



Apron: they are used as a double protection, especially in very dirty or humid operations. With its use, the replacement of all clothing during the work day and its consequent wear is avoided. It is important that the aprons do not have loose ties that could catch on equipment and utensils and cause spills or accidents.



Long pants: this garment also serves as a barrier between the skin and the work environment, so it is recommended that it cover the entire leg.



Safety and washable shoes or boots: the footwear must fulfill several functions, one is that of a barrier, another of safety against cuts, crushing and slipping, and a third hygiene function, which is why it is required that they be made of a material that resists the washing and disinfection operations.


In all cases, it is recommended that clothing be in light colors and for exclusive use; that people dress in the workplace locker room and that they enter each day with a washed and ironed equipment.
